Feeling the Spirit's Call: Finding Our Witness in Every Connection

It’s a beautiful reminder that no matter where we are—online or in person—we are called to share the love of the restored Gospel.

There’s a beautiful, palpable energy when you hear the outpouring of love, the shared testimonies, and the collective prayer. It reminds me so much of those times we gathered in the chapel after a particularly moving session of missionary discussions—that feeling that the Spirit was moving so strongly, you couldn't help but want to share what you felt.

Watching these streams of connection, seeing people from different corners of the earth—from Santa Catarina to Brasília, from the South to the North—all gathering under the banner of "You Are a Miracle," it hits you: The work doesn't stop because we log off. The Spirit doesn't take a break just because we’re not physically in the field.

This whole experience, this digital gathering, is a powerful testament to what it means to be an internet missionary. It proves that the framework of discipleship—the sharing of our covenants and the invitation to learn more about the restored Gospel—is portable. It’s a beautiful extension of what we learn in Preach My Gospel.

The Power of the Shared Testimony

What struck me most was the emphasis placed on sharing a testimony, no matter how small. Whether it was a first-time visitor saying hello, or someone sharing a profound personal experience, the invitation was always: "Share what God has done in your life."

Brothers and sisters, this is a vital piece of missionary preparation. When we feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the work, it’s easy to feel like we need to be in the MTC, or that we need to be standing on a street corner. But the Spirit teaches us something deeper. Our greatest tool isn't our polished talk track; it's our lived experience. Our testimony is the living proof that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real.

If you’re feeling that pull—that desire to share what you’ve learned, or what you’ve been taught through your Book Club or Bible Study Group—don't wait for the perfect setting. Be ready to share the miracle that has happened to *you*.

A Little Mission Prep Skill: When someone asks a deep, challenging question—the kind that makes you pause and think, "Wow, I didn't know how to answer that"—remember the power of silence. Don't rush to fill the gap. Take a breath, feel the Spirit prompt you, and then answer with grace, pointing them back to the scriptures or to your own personal experience. That thoughtful pause is often more powerful than the perfect answer.

We are all disciples, whether we are preparing for transfers, serving alongside our companions, or simply trying to live more Christlike lives in our daily routines. Every connection point, every comment left online, is an opportunity to be a disciple anywhere, all the time.

If you want to practice navigating those tough questions, I highly recommend spending some time with Davee. He’s excellent at walking you through the hard questions an investigator might ask, helping you sharpen your answers for those crucial missionary discussions.

For those who want to deepen their study, I’ve been revisiting the principles of gathering Israel through the lens of the Iron Rod authors. If you haven't, I encourage you to check out some recommended readings in LivingBook. It’s a wonderful resource for keeping our minds focused on the covenants.

We’re building a community where we support each other in our journey. If you haven't already, join a local Bible Study Group through HolyPlaces this week. It’s a wonderful way to connect with other disciples in person!

Remember, you are a miracle. Keep sharing your light!
