Hushing the Fears: Finding Eternal Peace in Doctrine and Covenants

When we confront the sheer magnitude of uncertainty—the unpredictable nature of the body, the volatility of economies, the persistent threat of the unknown—the natural response is fear. It is a powerful, primal emotion, one that even the Fall itself demonstrated, causing Adam and Eve to hide themselves in fear (Genesis 3:10). The Doctrine of Dispelling Fear

As the Master taught, “Learn of me and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my spirit, and you shall have peace in me” (Matthew 11:29).
2. Build Upon His Foundation: This requires diligent study of the doctrines and covenants. It means understanding that our ordinances—baptism, temple endowment, sealing—are not merely rituals, but covenants that connect us directly to the stream of divine power. Our scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, testify of His power to restore and comfort.
3. Press Forward with Faith: Faith here is not blind hope; it is a ready reliance on His merits, mercy, and grace. It is the confidence that even when the immediate outcome is unclear, the foundational truths of the gospel remain immutable and enduring.

The peace Christ gives allows us to view mortality through the precious perspective of eternity and supplies a spiritual settled ‘no sus.’

This perspective is the work of the Spirit. It requires consistent covenant keeping, a willingness to submit to the priesthood authority, and the active study of the principles outlined by the Prophet and Apostles. Do not let the clamor of the world distract you from the quiet, foundational truths of the Restoration. The peace we seek is not a feeling; it is the direct result of abiding in His commandments.
