What does this all mean for our journey?'

It’s natural to feel that way. We are living in times that test our faith like never before. When the world seems to be shouting its confusion, our sacred duty as disciples is to quiet our hearts and listen for the still, small voice of the Spirit. We are called to be internet missionaries, disciples anywhere, all the time, and that means being prepared to study, to teach, and to testify, no matter the storm.

Recently, I was thinking a lot about how we process these massive, world-shaking events. I was reminded of a recent conference where the speakers were laying out the order of events—the grand tapestry of the last days. It was a powerful, if sobering, reminder that while the world reacts with panic, the Lord is sovereign, and He is in control.

It struck me how often we are drawn to the immediate, the loudest thing happening on the news cycle. We look for mentions of places, for specific prophecies to pinpoint our location on God's calendar. And while that deep study is valuable—especially when we dive into passages like Zephaniah—we must always anchor it back to the core: Preach My Gospel. The prophecies are guides, but the gospel is the power.

A Bite-Sized Mission Prep Skill: From Panic to Pattern

If the world throws us a barrage of confusing information, what’s our immediate response? Don't react with fear; react with pattern recognition. When you feel overwhelmed by current events, take five minutes. Instead of reading the headlines, open up your scriptures and ask: 'What does the Book of Mormon, or the Doctrine and Covenants, say about enduring times? What pattern of faithfulness is modeled here?' This shifts you from being a consumer of anxiety to a student of divine pattern.

This is the heart of being a disciple—to be a perpetual student of the Spirit and the word. We must continue to hone our skills in understanding the pattern of revelation, whether that’s through deep dives into the scriptures, or by working through tough questions with the help of our friends.
