But as always, where there is profound light, there is intense opposition. John 7 and 8 are steeped in it. We see the confusion, the questioning of identity, and the accusations flying. It reminds me that being a disciple, being an internet missionary, isn't always about smooth sailing; sometimes it’s about standing firm when the world tries to define the Savior—and by extension, the gospel—on its own terms.

Think about the woman caught in adultery, or the confrontation with the Pharisees. Jesus balances justice and mercy perfectly. He doesn't let us forget that while we must hold to truth (the Law of Witnesses), we must also extend boundless compassion. That balance is the hallmark of being Christlike.

A Bite-Sized Skill for Today: Questioning Assumptions

As we prepare to share the gospel this week, I want to give you a small tool, a skill I’ve been practicing. When you are in a missionary discussion, or even just talking to a friend, and they make a strong, seemingly absolute statement about faith or doctrine, don't just refute it. Instead, gently ask, "What makes you say that?" or "What scripture leads you to that conclusion?" This simple act of inviting them to articulate their source helps shift the conversation from argument to scripture-based investigation. It's a small way to model the investigative spirit we need.

This week, let's focus on that balance: the unwavering truth of the Father's plan, delivered with the boundless mercy of the Savior. Let's keep our testimonies deep and strong, like Jacob!
