Seeing the Savior: Reflections on the Message of Christ for Our Online Ministry

Brothers and sisters, sometimes the sheer volume of material—the study guides, the doctrinal deep dives, the calls to action—can feel overwhelming. We are called to do so much, and the Spirit often whispers, *“Where do I even start?”*

It’s easy, when we’re knee-deep in curriculum or preparing for a tough missionary discussion, to get caught up in the *how* rather than dwelling on the *Who*. We are so focused on the mechanics of the work—the best way to teach the Plan of Salvation, the perfect scripture reference, the smoothest testimony—that we risk losing sight of the central figure: Jesus Christ.

Recently, I was looking at resources surrounding the Savior's life, and it brought me back to the core of our calling. The message isn't a complex algorithm we have to master; it's a message of profound, saving grace. When we remember what the Savior proclaimed, the path forward, both in the field and online, becomes so much clearer.

The Unchanging Core: Repentance and Restoration

When I reflect on the words echoed from the scriptures—the need to preach repentance, the promise of forgiveness, the call to make the winding roads straight—it hits me that this message is timeless. It's the same message that fueled the early Saints, the same message that guides us today as we serve as Internet missionaries.

The Savior’s mission was comprehensive: to proclaim release to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty those who are oppressed. Think about that scope! Our modern discipleship, whether we are in the MTC, serving as companions, or just sitting at our kitchen table, is an extension of that divine mandate.

It reminds me of the profound simplicity found in the scriptures. It’s not about earning God’s favor through perfect adherence; it’s about accepting the gift of the Atonement. As we study the Book of Mormon, or engage in our Bible Study Groups in HolyPlaces, let’s keep that central theme—the Savior’s sacrifice—at the forefront of our hearts.

This isn't just theory for Sunday class; this is the fuel for our testimonies. It’s the power that helps us keep going when the going gets tough, when the investigator asks a question that feels impossible to answer, or when we feel discouraged after a tough ward meeting. The Savior’s power is what sustains us.

The Savior taught, “For the man who exalteth himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” That principle—humility—is the bedrock of discipleship, whether you are a seasoned returned missionary or just starting your journey.

We are all disciples, wherever we are. We can be Internet missionaries right now. We can strengthen our knowledge through our studies, and we can draw closer to the Spirit by focusing on the core message of Christ.
