If the answer is "It means we need to prepare ourselves," then your preparation shouldn't be reading more prophecy; it should be deepening your personal study of the Book of Mormon, strengthening your testimony, and getting ready to share that testimony. That is the immediate, actionable 'work' that the Spirit guides us toward.
