It reminds me of the foundational truth we learn in our missionary preparation: we don't just present information; we point people to the Advocate. We point them to the Savior.

A Bite-Sized Mission Prep Skill: Asking "Why?"

If you are feeling rusty on your gospel knowledge, remember that the best tool you have is not a perfect answer, but a genuine curiosity coupled with the Spirit. When you are in a missionary discussion, and an investigator asks a tough "why" question—a question that requires you to dig deep into doctrine—don't panic. Don't try to recite a perfect definition. Instead, use the investigator's question as a springboard to share your own journey. You can say, "That is a profound question. It’s something I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about, and what I’ve come to understand is..."

This vulnerability, this willingness to say, "I am learning this with you," is often what draws people in. It shows that the gospel isn't a set of immutable facts, but a living relationship with Christ.
