The Divine Discipline of Focus: Hasting Our Energy for the Gathering

The heavens are full of potential. Every believer, every covenant keeper, possesses a divine measure of brilliance, energy, and love. We are called to be lights in the world, shining with a radiance that draws others to the truth. But let us pause and consider a profound principle: the sheer abundance of good intentions, while commendable, can become a spiritual scattergun. The prophets know that power, brilliance, and energy are not inherently good; they are simply tools. The question is always, where do we aim them?

Consider the sacred imagery of the five smooth stones, or the mighty act of Samuel the Lamanite climbing the wall. These acts are not merely physical feats; they represent focused, targeted effort. To accomplish such things—to build Zion, to gather the scattered sheep—requires a discipline of the spirit. It requires a focus that is unwavering, a gaze fixed not on the many good things we *could* do, but on the one great work: the gathering of Israel.

As a wise student of the gospel taught, even the greatest gifts are inert without direction. We can be wonderful at many things—we can study doctrine, we can serve our neighbors, we can even paint many beautiful rocks—but if we do not harness that energy toward the central purpose, we risk scattering our spiritual inheritance. Our focus must be single-minded, pointing us ever toward the central gathering place, and toward the glorious work of the Kingdom.

The Geometry of Divine Focus

The principle is simple, yet profoundly difficult: Focus is not about glancing; it is about looking and continuing to look. It is the spiritual equivalent of the Builder who does not wander, but who meticulously lays the foundation stone upon the covenant path. This focused energy is what allows us to move the massive, seemingly insurmountable task of global spiritual revival.

Building the Gathering Effort

Our movement, the gathering effort, is the most natural, divine focus point available to us today. It is the convergence of all righteous energies under the banner of building the Kingdom. But this global effort does not happen by chance; it is powered by structure, commitment, and, yes, by the faithful engagement of every single Builder reading this.

Our mission is built on three load-bearing structures that require our constant, focused attention:

• The Map: GatherIsrael.now is our digital map, showing us the denominational markers and the physical locations where the work of the Lord is expanding. This map is our collective vision board.
• The Commitment: The Missionary Fund and the Charity Flywheel. Your engagement—whether through sharing a testimony, volunteering time, or supporting the fund—directly powers our reach. Your generosity funds gospel advertising in places like Ghana, ensuring the message reaches those who have never heard it.
• The Principle: Remembering we are Builders, not Destroyers. We are focused on construction, on the white stone of truth, and on the eternal covenant.

When we keep these elements at the center of our minds, our focus becomes naturally purified. We are not merely participating in a study group; we are actively contributing to a global spiritual economy. We are not just clicking 'share'; we are helping to build the physical and spiritual pathways that will lead to the ultimate gathering.

Where Will Your Focus Land Today?

Every single action we take—from studying the profound covenants of Ammon at the Waters of Sebus to contributing to the Missionary Fund—must be tethered to this overarching divine focus. It is a call to vigilance, a call to the spiritual discipline of the prophet.

If you feel yourself scattered by the many demands of the world, remember the sacred power of singular purpose. Direct your energy. Focus on the Map. Focus on the Covenant. Focus on the gathering.
