The Gospel in Every Tongue and Touchscreen: Being an Internet Missionary Today

Sometimes I sit down after a long day of studying, maybe reviewing notes for a potential transfer, and I think about how far we’ve come. We’ve seen the Spirit move in the hardest corners of the field, and we’ve learned that the Lord doesn't care if we are standing on a mountain top or in a high-rise apartment—He just wants us to share His message.

It’s easy, when you’re fresh out of MTC, to feel like you need a grand, physical platform to share the gospel. You think you need the perfect setting, the perfect group of people waiting to hear it. But the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is designed to meet people where they are—whether that’s across an icy river or on an encrypted messaging platform.

I was watching this video recently, and it really struck a chord with me, reminding me that the tools for the Great Commission are constantly evolving. It’s not about the technology itself; it’s about equipping *us*, the body of Christ, with the strategies to speak the language of today.

Speaking the Language of Today

The message hasn't changed since the Prophet Joseph Smith received the revelations, but the *delivery* has to change. That’s the beautiful challenge of being a disciple in this modern era. We are called to be Internet missionaries, disciples everywhere, all the time. We need to be fluent in the culture, the platform, and the heart language of the person in front of us—or on the screen in front of us.

As we continue to refine our skills in missionary preparation, I want to challenge us all to think less about the *perfect* way to share and more about the *immediate* way.
