The Harvest is Ready: Seeing the Field Through the Eyes of a Disciple

The disciples were told, "Wake up and look around; the fields are ready for harvest." That’s what I want to challenge us on today. The people who are listening to us, the friends we are studying with, the family members who are curious—they are the fields.

The message isn't that we should stop preparing. Missionary preparation is eternal; we must always be ready. But it is also a message of profound confidence in the Lord’s power to bring forth fruit. The seeds of the gospel, once planted by the Spirit, will yield a harvest, even if we are just the ones standing nearby, witnessing the miracle.

A Bite-Sized Skill for the Field: Listening for the Seed

When someone shares a question or a struggle, don't rush to answer with your prepared material. Instead, pause, and ask yourself: *What is the core need or belief they are struggling with right now?* That core struggle—that is the seed the Spirit wants you to nurture. Let the Spirit guide your response, rather than your well-rehearsed talking points.

It’s a beautiful cycle: we are taught the principles, we apply them in our local Church settings (like Bible Study Groups), and we watch the Spirit work, realizing that our role is often less about *doing* and more about *witnessing* the Lord’s doing.
