I was pondering a recent piece of media that depicted characters grappling with immense, almost magical powers. It was a whirlwind of shape-shifting snakes, divine intervention, and the constant struggle to discern what is real and what is merely a trick of the eye. It made me stop and think deeply about where our true strength comes from.

When we look at these stories, especially those involving supposed mastery over life and death, it always brings us back to the central truth of our discipleship: our power doesn't come from mastering the external world, but from cultivating the internal covenant with the Savior.

The script excerpt, with its talk of intricate bindings, curses, and ultimate liberation, really hammered home a point for me this week. The characters are so focused on who has the *most* power—the one who can bind, the one who can save, the one who can reveal the ultimate truth—that they forget the source of all that power. They are caught up in the drama, the 'how-to' of magic, rather than the simple, sustaining grace of the Atonement.
