The Knock at the Door: An Invitation We Can Never Ignore

Brothers and sisters, have you ever been invited to an event—a wedding, a milestone celebration, maybe even a big family gathering? You look forward to it, you plan for it, and when you arrive, you realize you need something to get you in. You need the invitation.

It’s a simple concept, isn't it? No invitation, no entry. It’s a universal law of access. But what if the most important invitation of our lives—the one that grants access to eternal life and the deepest companionship—is the one we sometimes fail to hear?

Recently, I was pondering this idea, and it brought to mind a beautiful reminder about the greatest invitation ever extended. It’s not printed on fancy cardstock; it’s spoken through the Spirit, echoing the words of Christ himself.

The message is clear, and it’s deeply personal: “Ecco, io sto alla porta e busso.” (Behold, I stand at the door and knock.)

When we think about this, we are thinking about the Savior. He isn't sending a committee; He is personally at the threshold of our hearts. He doesn't barge in; He *knocks*. This gentle persistence is so unlike the loud pronouncements we sometimes hear, but it carries the weight of all eternity.

What Does Christ Want When He Knocks?
