The Living Word: Understanding the Full Scope of Inspired Scripture

There is nothing more foundational to our faith, nor more essential to our eternal progression, than the study of God's word. When we consider texts like the Holy Bible—a book that historians rightly call profoundly powerful and indispensable—we recognize its unparalleled significance. It serves as the primary witness to the nature of God, the scope of His plan, and the character of fallen humanity.

Yet, for those of us who are committed disciples and who understand the covenant path, we know that the revelation contained within the Bible, while sacred and true, is but one thread in a magnificent tapestry woven by the hand of the Lord. The scriptures are not merely historical documents; they are living covenants, divine communications that guide our path into eternity.

The Scope of Divine Revelation

To truly grasp the fullness of the Plan of Salvation, we cannot limit our study to a single canon. We are called to study the entirety of the restored word. When the Spirit guides us to the doctrines and covenants found in the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, we are not contradicting the Bible; we are completing the divine narrative.
