But if we’re going to live our lives as true Internet missionaries, we have to learn that the greatest miracles often happen in the mundane: in a timely phone call, a shared meal, or a simple, heartfelt "thank you."

The core of the gospel is that we are called to be lights. We are called to be Christlike. And what does being Christlike look like when we're not in the field, or even when we are? It looks like being an attentive, compassionate disciple. It means seeing the Savior in the struggling neighbor, the tired coworker, and the fearful soul.

When I was in my last assignment, I learned that the most impactful conversations didn't always happen at the temple or during a formal missionary discussion. Sometimes they happened at the grocery store, or while waiting for a bus. The conversation started with a shared struggle—a lost pet, a tough day at work—and the simple act of listening, truly listening, was the gospel. That act of empathy was the greatest tool I had.

We are all disciples, whether we are pre-missionary, a returned missionary, or a lifelong student. We are all called to be *complements* to the work. Our local congregation is our field. Our neighborhood is our field. Our online interactions are our field.

Your Disciple Challenge: Look for the Miracle

This week, I invite you to take a personal Disciple Challenge. I challenge you to identify one person this week—a neighbor, a colleague, or even a family member—and intentionally perform an act of kindness for them that requires no spiritual reward. No expectation of gratitude. Just pure, Christlike kindness. Afterward, take a moment and journal: How did that act feel? Did the Spirit accompany you? Often, the joy of giving love is the greatest testimony we can receive.
