The Unrelenting Love: Finding the Power to Keep Showing Up

There are days, aren't there? Days when you feel like you’ve given everything—your time, your energy, your best stories—and you look at the spiritual harvest and wonder, “Where is the fruit? Where is the breakthrough?”

It can feel like a marathon, especially when you’re deep in the field, or even when you're just trying to be a better disciple in your own neighborhood. You pour your heart into a missionary discussion, you study scripture until your eyes blur, and sometimes, the immediate response feels… muted. You might feel like you’re standing on a patch of dry ground, waiting for the rain.

But the truth we learn on the mission, the truth we cling to when we’re back home, is that the love of the Savior, and the love of the gospel, is utterly *unrelenting*. It doesn't take a break for us to get tired. It doesn't pause when we feel discouraged.

I was reflecting this week on some powerful music—something about redemption that just hits deep. It reminded me that our effort isn't measured by the immediate visible success, but by the faithfulness of our heart to keep showing up, day after day, week after week. That’s the rhythm of the restored gospel.

The Discipline of Showing Up

This concept of relentlessness is what separates the good effort from the eternal effort. It’s what the missionaries talk about when they say they have to keep going, even when the investigators are resistant, or when the comps are tough to find. It’s the commitment to the process, even when the process is messy.

As we continue to be Internet missionaries, we have a unique advantage: we can practice this relentlessness anytime, anywhere. We don't need to be physically in a ward or a mission field to be doing the work. We can be doing it right here, right now, by being intentional disciples.

If you’re feeling the weight of the work, try this: Instead of leaving a big, heavy question for the next time, leave a small, actionable bridge. If you talked to someone about the Book of Mormon, don't just say, “Think about it.” Instead, say, “When you have a quiet moment this week, I’d love for you to look up the account of Nephi’s vision in the LivingBook. It’s a powerful reminder of the Spirit’s promptings.”

It shifts the focus from *your* effort to *their* opportunity, and it keeps the connection alive without creating pressure. It’s persistent, but it’s gentle. It’s Christlike.

Remembering the Source

When things feel overwhelming, I always try to go back to the core message: that redemption is relentless. That love doesn't quit. That’s what fuels us, the returned missionaries, the lifelong disciples, and the newly called. We are fueled by the Savior’s Atonement.
