It’s a profound calling, one that can feel overwhelming when you’re first stepping out into the field, or even when you’ve been out for a while and the opposition seems loud.

But I was reflecting this week on a passage that always brings me back to the core of our mission—the power of the Spirit as our guide and our witness. It’s a reminder that we are never walking this path alone. The Spirit doesn't just whisper; He testifies, and that testimony is what sustains us.

The Spirit as Our Ultimate Witness

When we study the scriptures, especially the Book of John, we see this pattern repeatedly. Jesus is always pointing back to the Father, and the Spirit is the conduit for that divine communication. The excerpt we looked at today, referencing João 15:26-27, speaks directly to this power: *“quando chegar o auxiliador o espírito da Verdade que vem do pai ele falará a respeito de mim e sou eu quem enviará esse auxiliador da parte do pai e vocês também falarão a meu respeito porque estão comigo desde o começo.”*

Think about that! The Spirit comes to testify *about* Him, and then *we*—the disciples—are empowered to testify about Him because we have been with Him from the beginning. It’s a beautiful picture of divine endowment. We don't generate the testimony; we are filled with it.

How Do We Cultivate This Testimony?

As we continue to learn how to be more Christlike, we realize that preparation isn't just about memorizing talks or knowing doctrine. It’s about cultivating a deep, abiding relationship with the Savior so that when the Spirit moves, our testimony flows naturally, effortlessly, and powerfully.

This week, I want to challenge you to practice radical listening. When you are studying, praying, or even just having a casual conversation with a friend who is curious about the gospel, pause before answering. Instead of immediately formulating a doctrinal answer, take a deep breath and ask the Spirit, "What do you want me to say right now?" Don't just wait for an answer; *listen* for the promptings of peace, clarity, or gentle conviction. That quiet knowing—that’s the Spirit guiding your message.

This principle is vital whether you are in the MTC, preparing for transfers, or serving as a lifelong disciple in your own backyard. The Spirit teaches us how to be effective internet missionaries, too!

Remember that the greatest power we have is the testimony we bear, which is fueled by the Spirit.

The Lord has given us the tools—the scriptures, the living book, our brethren, and the Spirit—to do this work. Let's use them diligently.
