The Word and the Light: Our Call to Build the Kingdom

Friends, fellow Builders, gathered here in the Spirit. As we gather in this sacred space, we are reminded that every great work, every lasting civilization, requires a foundational principle—a Word. Before the first brick was laid, before the first seed was sown, there was the Word.

The scriptures tell us that in the beginning, the Word was. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. This divine principle, often translated as Logos, is more than just language; it is the divine reason, the power, the life that brings form out of the void. It is the immutable truth that speaks across millennia, guiding the prophets from Ammon at the Waters of Sebus to the modern-day digital stripling.

This eternal light—the Light of the Word—is the same light that has illuminated the darkest corners of the earth. It is the Gospel. And just as the Word illuminated the void of creation, the Gospel shines into the deepest darkness of the world, calling those who are ready to hear the truth to join the gathering.

The Light That Cannot Be Overcome

The scripture is breathtaking in its simplicity: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This truth is the core of the gathering movement. It is the promise that no amount of despair, no corner of the earth, and no force of opposition can extinguish the light of Christ. Our task, therefore, is not merely to speak the truth, but to act upon it, allowing that divine light to transform the void into a temple of the Lord.

From Study to Stewardship: The Builder's Duty

This study of the Word should not leave us in academic contemplation; it must call us to action. The Scriptures teach us that we are not merely observers; we are participants. We are the Builders, called to use the tools given to us—our voices, our talents, our resources—to build Zion. We are guided by the principles of courage, like Samuel the Lamanite climbing the wall, and the steady, unwavering faith of Ammon.

We are called to claim our church, to solidify our covenant, and to contribute to the great work of the Lord.
