As returned missionaries, we’ve learned that the field is full of challenging questions. We’ve been taught to answer with gentleness and truth, always pointing back to the Savior. But sometimes, the questions aren't just about doctrine; they challenge the very *nature* of truth itself.

Recently, I came across some material that dealt with differing interpretations of religious texts—texts that, when scrutinized, revealed deep inconsistencies or outright contradictions when held up against the plain testimony of the restored gospel. It was a sobering reminder that simply *having* a book of scripture isn't the same as *knowing* the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This isn't meant to be a lecture on comparative religion, but rather a gentle nudge toward the core principle of our discipleship: our testimony must be built on the living word and the Spirit, not on cultural consensus or selective reading. We are taught to be diligent students of the scriptures, to use our resources, and to always seek the Spirit’s confirmation. This is the essence of the Iron Rod work.

Keeping the Testimony Pure
