Your Story Isn't Finished: Recognizing the Divine Work in Your Current Season

When we think about the calling—whether it’s going to the MTC, serving a full-time mission, or simply keeping the covenant at home—it’s easy to get bogged down in the details. We look at our weaknesses, our mistakes, and the areas where we feel least ‘ready.’ We think, ‘I haven’t mastered this doctrine,’ or ‘I still struggle with that habit.’ We start to doubt if we are truly equipped for the work.

But if you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, you need to hear this: God is already at work. And the amazing thing about the Spirit is that He doesn't wait for us to be perfect before He calls us; He uses us in the very process of becoming perfect.

The Master Storyteller: God's Purpose is Always Visible

The scriptures are filled with examples of people who were far from perfect, yet who were chosen and used mightily. Esther, who risked everything for her people; Jacob, the trickster who became the father of a nation; Rahab, who was an outsider and a prostitute, yet became a hero of faith; and Zacchaeus, the tax collector, who hid his wealth but was seen and called by Jesus.

These stories teach us that God's vision of us—the Latter-day Saint vision—is always one of ultimate purpose. He sees us intimately, even when we feel hidden or stained by our own failings. He sees the potential for covenant keeping, the capacity to follow the Savior, and the desire to be Christlike.

Mission Prep Skill: Instead of viewing your current struggles (like a financial issue or a relationship challenge) as disqualifiers, view them as the specific area where the Spirit is refining you. That refinement *is* your mission preparation.
