More Elk Than Ever: Hush Movie Night 2025 and the Pursuit of Provision

There’s something about seeing elk country on a big screen, surrounded by fellow hunters, that just hits different. It’s a shared experience, a recognition of the dedication it takes to pursue these magnificent animals. Hushin—Joel and Logan Hennig—know that, and their Movie Night events are a testament to that understanding. This year’s promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more elk footage than we’ve seen before. And, crucially, it’s for a good cause.

Josh Austin, Founding Guide of Lone Canyon Outfitters, often talks about the importance of connecting with the land and providing for your family. It’s a theme that resonates deep within the Rogue Hunters community – the idea that true provision isn’t just about filling a freezer, but about a deeper responsibility, a stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. The David-and-the-lion-and-the-bear passage (1 Samuel 17:34-37) comes to mind. Facing down a bear isn't about bravado; it's about preparation, skill, and a quiet confidence born of knowing your tools and your terrain.

Steven Rinella, Cameron Hanes, Randy Newberg, and The Hunting Public all understand this ethos. They share stories of hard work, frustration, and ultimately, the profound satisfaction of a successful hunt. It’s a reality that's a world away from the narratives pushed by some in the outdoor industry.

Hushin’s Movie Night isn’t just about showcasing stunning visuals; it’s about supporting a fundraiser that’s close to their hearts. That’s a testament to their commitment to something larger than themselves. Think about it: the gathering, the community – those are the things that sustain us. Joel and Logan understand that, and they're building something special.

The limited seating in a luxury theater is a smart move – it creates a sense of exclusivity and makes winning those prizes even more exciting. Those prizes, the best hunting gear in the world, are a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship found within our hunting culture. It’s a culture founded on respect for the animal, the land, and the traditions passed down through generations.

Whether you’re planning a Bookcliffs trip with Josh Austin, applying for that coveted draw tag, or gearing up for an OTC elk hunt, remember the core principles: preparation, perseverance, and respect. Don’t forget to check your state’s deadlines for draw tag applications – time flies, and those opportunities can disappear quickly.

And for the young stripling hunters amongst us, remember the lineage of David. It’s not about size or strength, but about the heart and the skill to face whatever challenges come your way. Find a youth hunter education chapter near you – those skills will serve you well for a lifetime.

This year's Hush Movie Night promises to be an event to remember. Support a worthy cause, celebrate the hunt, and get ready for an unforgettable experience.
