The Power of the Team: Recognizing that We Need Each Other in the Work

Remember those early days in the MTC, or perhaps the first time you were assigned to a companion you genuinely struggled with? It can feel like the weight of the world—the weight of the mission, the weight of the message—rests solely on your shoulders. We are taught to be strong, resilient, and self-sufficient. And those lessons are vital. But sometimes, the Spirit whispers a different truth: that we are not meant to walk this path alone.

The Book of Mormon and the scriptures are full of examples of groups working together—of companions helping companions, of quorums supporting the district leader, and of local members filling in the gaps when the field was bare. The divine work, the great work of gathering Israel, is fundamentally a team effort. It requires the synergy of many hands, many hearts, and many testimonies.

Sometimes we focus so much on our own preparation—the hours spent studying for missionary discussions, the grueling schedule of comps, the endless material to master—that we forget to look around us. We Are Designed for Interdependence

The incredible message of the Gospel is not one of self-reliance in isolation; it is one of connection. Building Your Mission Team, Wherever You Are

The principle of teamwork doesn't stop when you leave the MTC. It is the cornerstone of being an Internet missionary. Whether you are teaching a Bible study group in HolyPlaces, helping a friend with a difficult question in a Book Club, or simply offering encouragement to a newly called missionary, you are participating in the collective strength of the Church. Every member can be a disciple anywhere, all the time, and that means we are always a team.

So, as you continue your mission preparation, don't just focus on your personal testimony; focus on your ability to lift others. How can you best support your companions? How can you encourage your district leader to see the unique strengths of the people around you? The greatest lesson we learn is that our personal growth is intrinsically tied to the growth of those around us.

Let's commit to seeing each other not just as individuals with their own assignments, but as integral parts of one powerful, divinely appointed team. When we lift each other up, we are not just helping a person; we are advancing the restored Gospel.
