We know, intellectually, that Christ is the most powerful force in the universe, but in the messy, emotional reality of life, it’s incredibly easy to forget just how awesome He is.

Recently, I was reflecting on some teachings that challenged me to look at that forgetting process. The speaker highlighted the incredible power of the Messiah—the authority over the wind and the sea. It’s a powerful reminder that the Savior’s glory isn’t just a historical event; it's a constant, available power source for us, right here, right now.

It’s easy to forget the glory of having Him in your life every day. We often get so accustomed to the presence of the Lord that we don’t realize how great and how awesome He truly is.

This concept—the danger of spiritual complacency—is something we have to actively fight against, especially as we embark on the work. When we are in missionary preparation, it’s easy to focus only on the immediate tasks: passing the interviews, memorizing the talking points, or nailing the dates. But the most crucial work is internal: keeping Christ's glorious power at the forefront of our hearts.

Think about it: the scriptures tell us that the natural world obeys the Messiah. Our lives are full of 'natural world' events—the inevitable setbacks, the unexpected disappointments, the deep doubts. When we feel those pressures mounting, our first instinct might be to panic, to worry, or to try to solve the problem with sheer human willpower.

But the message here is a profound shift in perspective: When we anchor ourselves not in our own strength, but in the overwhelming, eternal, and magnificent power of Jesus Christ, everything changes. He is so much more powerful than any storm around us.

How can we do this daily? I recommend making it a habit to set aside time to ponder the covenants. Remember the magnitude of the grace you have been given.

Don't think about the answer; think about the power source—Christ. Ask: “How does the Savior's glory help me answer this?” This shifts your focus from performance to divine power.
